BEING
A PART OF NJWC
Membership is open to all women (regardless of age, race, color,
religion, sexual orientation, handicapped status, or national origin)
who possess an interest in and a commitment to volunteerism.
The entire club attends nine General Meetings a year held on the
fourth Wednesday of each month.
Although all Juniors work on a variety of projects through the year,
each member chooses a committee to focus their efforts.
Committee meetings are held once a month during the months the
club meets and at other times when project efforts need it. Our
committees are:
Safety Town – focused on providing safety related
information and training to the children and members of our community.
This committee’s main project is the Safety Town Summer Program.
Their efforts [with the support of the entire club] provide safety
education to over 1700 children annually!!
Ways
and Means – responsible for the fundraising efforts which
allow us to implement our projects and provide financial support
to other needy organizations. These ladies’ primary exertion is
our annual fall fashion show. 1,000+ women will be in awe when
they see this one of a kind event held the 1st Saturday of November.
Community Service – charged with a two-fold mission
of providing hands-on service to those that need it, as well as,
responding to the many requests for volunteer labor and financial
support. This group does a variety of things – from our annual
Senior Luncheon in October to reviewing and awarding scholarships
in the spring.
Membership and Operations – the cornerstone for
all administrative and operational happenings in the club. A key
function of this team is the retention and acquisition of members
in the club, as well as, all internal and external communication.
